I would like to add a few trails in a survey area. These are marked at regular intervals with tags. I would like to know what is the accepted way to input and label each POI (marker) along the trail so that we can see that information later: |

Take a look at information=guidepost. I guess the example labels you give would go in the "ref" tag. The rendering on openstreetmap.org does not include the ref, but a more specialized map might. |
