How do I download raw Mapbox satellite imagery (the one that is available for tracing). I need it in original native scale for research purposes. Is the "OSM enabled" imagery the same one that Mapbox promotes on its website?

I would appreciate being able to select the area for download somehow. Also maybe some info on their tiling system (how to stitch smaller tiles together to create larger coverage). I am sure I could reverse engineer some of the editors (iD, JOSM etc.) but it will be much faster if someone can give me few hits.

Thanks for your help!

The higher zoom imagery that Mapbox uses is licensed from DigitalGlobe, I would suggest contacting them, probably Kevin Bullock can guide you to the right person.

I'd ask Mapbox. Also, you don't really mean 1:1 do you?

Removed the 1:1 scale from question. Long live Black Adder! :)
