I have a collection of 71 photos that captures the store fronts of just under 1km of a dense retail area. Non of them are geotagged, but as I know where I started, what direction I was going, and each overlaps somewhat with neighbouring images, it is useful for me for mapping purposes.

I think they could be useful for others too, but it's not clear to me how I'd be able to share the images while providing the context that makes the images useful. I think Mapillary requires geotagged photos.

(These images are taken of the Main Bazzar of Leh, Ladakh, India.)

JOSM with the Photo Geotagging and PhotoAdjust plugins are also very useful for geotagging images. I regularly use this for preparing photos for upload to Mapillary and other services.

In the end this is the approach that found the most useful, as it did the job, and integrates into my workflow nicely.

You may be able to geo-tag them if you recorded a GPX trace at the same time, assuming the clock on the camera had been set to GPS time or you know the error. Pics can be located with JOSM or Prune and several other apps which use the GPX time stamps to fix the pictures. You can manually do this with Prune. With prune you can see the time of each GPX point on an OSM map just sync the time within the pics data. A clever trick if you can locate one pic, is to retrieve the time error and use this correction to Geo-fix the others.

If you do not have a GPS track and therefore are unable to geotag them automatically, you can use a program like GottenGeography to manually locate them on a map.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'd never heard of GottenGeography before, I've just installed it, and it looks really cool. I'll mess around with it and see if I can figure out how to do what I want with it.
