How to correct all dutch postal codes

0

All of the postal codes in the Netherlands are written wrong. It's supposed to be 4 numbers and two letters separated by a space, however in OSM it is not separated by a space, but written together. How can we fix this for all of the Netherlands?

It is technically possible to make such a wide-ranging edit but this often has unintended consequences, for example making it look like many objects have been updated when instead it was just an automatic modification of a post code tag. If you haven't already, your first action should be to discuss the matter on the "talk-nl" mailing list so ensure that the Dutch community actually shares your assessment. Under no circumstances should you make an edit that touches objects in the whole country without that crucial step. If a mass modification is deemed useful and necessary by the community, there will be people on the mailing list knowledgeable enough to actually perform it.

Hi oOLevi, There has been a discussion around over the same question in the Netherlands. The conclusion is that both combinations should be valid and so be tolerated, build on Map What Is. The renderer should build around it since both ways are in use for almost 40 years, since 1977. Most or all adress nodes are based on an import from the Governamental database named Cadastre, there should not be many adresses with a blank.
