Hi, I'm a newbie here, soo sorry for asking this obvious question. I have made some edits adding multiple roads in my city, and I know that almost instantly that my edits go to to the OSM database. When i load the OSM page after i saved the edits, when i zoom into my edited parts, i can see it submitted to the map. But if i zoom out i can't see my edits and the layer before my edit is visible, not the new one. here's an image that would explain this better: http://i.imgur.com/Ai0RCnk.png Soo, when is my edit going to be visible from a zoomed out view on the main OSM page? Thanks. asked 29 Jan '17, 13:40 piscesall aseerel4c26 ♦ |
The tiles for all zoom levels are not updated immediately because it would cost too much to do rendering this intensely.
There are many other reasons why tiles take longer than you expect to re-render to the latest mapped information. Looking at the image you provided, be aware that as you zoom out less types of objects are rendered and less things can be squeezed onto the decreasing pixel space. answered 29 Jan '17, 14:16 nevw |
See this FAQ or the answer to this question. Sometimes the issue is with your browser using old tiles from your browser cache. Try refreshing the browser page at each zoom level to download any updated map tiles. If you can see changes you have made appearing at the most detailed zoom level then they are in the OSM database. At less detailed levels the map tiles may take more time to be re-rendered. Just when the corresponding tiles at each level get re-rendered may depend on how much has changed on the tile and whether your browser has recently reloaded the tile. Try refreshing your browser at each zoom level where you expect to see changes. This may trigger re-rendering of the map tile. If the server rendering queue is empty then the change may appear immediately, otherwise it might take a few minutes or even several hours to several days for changes to appear at some less detailed zoom levels. answered 29 Jan '17, 14:24 Huttite |
