Hey all - I could use some help!

I am trying to use the OpenStreetMap in an application in Alberta, Canada, and there are drawing errors with the map. There is a green background layer (vegetation I assume), that is not drawing properly. Only some of the tiles are drawing, giving it a checker board look. Does anyone know if this can be fixed???? or how I can get it to look better?

Thanks for your help!!

please could you provide a link to the location? Just copy the URL from your browser's address bar and past here.

It's through the province, but the following link is a good example:

and you are sure this is not the reality? I mean... much landscape/city stuff is planned in grids in Northern America. Okay, I think here https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=11/54.6194/-113.2464 it is quite obvious that this seems to be a partly done import. Someone needs to check the data history, just wait a bit.

The large difference between the east and west is an artifact of incomplete or bad CanVec imports where the east has been done, but the west hasn't.

The small squares are probably also inaccurate, as most CanVec tree data tends to be outdated, but the overall appearance wouldn't have changed much.

I found a discussion of last year there: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Talk:CanVec#too_much_wood.3F . Long story short: no, there is no (easy) way to get this fixed for you as user. You could ignore all forest data in case you are using the raw OSM data. Real fixing it needs to be done in the OSM data is much effort. Likely it will need some more years.
