do you mean the coordinates of the mouse cursor? Or really something with GPS? In case you did not mean GPS:

Ok I can see the GPS coordinates in ID in the browser bar but it would be nicer to see the coordinates of the mouse position in realtime when moving the mouse around.

Yes, I fully agree that knowing the current position of the mouse pointer is helpful. It seems not to be possible currently in iD. I suggest to use the other editor JOSM (not only for this).
Potlatch 2 also supports it (click the options button at top right and it's an option in there).
