A few weeks ago, my JOSM menu bar started occasionally disappearing. I don't know why it happens or how to restore the menu bar. I'm using a PC running windows 10.

Do you mean the Toggle Dialogs on the right of JOSM?

There is a bunch of stuff that disappears if you hit the tab key and reappears on another tab key press (at least it does on a Mac). Is that what you are referring to?

That's the answer. My little finger, left hand must be getting lazy. I reach for the esc key a lot when trying to de-select a selected item and must be must be occasionally hitting the TAB key. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question.

Hi, left clicking on a blank section (not on an item) will de-select an item.
