Seems that lidars will be becoming part of cars and are becoming cheap enough to be mounted on cars. Will open street map support uploading of lidar data.

Imagine a cm level accuracy of meshes with textures for the whole world with annotations. This would be a huge boon for self driving cars.

... or a mailing list (different groups of OSMers tend to use different ways to communicate). This help site is designed to "simple questions with answers"; it's really not suited to rambling discussions, or questions (like this one) that don't really have an answer.
