OpenRiverboatMap tiles downloadable?

0

Hi!

As the loading times of tiles of OpenRiverboatMap on uMap are quite slow sometimes, I was wondering, if I could download the tiles of it and upload them to my own server, to get better loading times? This exact version of the tiles.

Thanks!

According to the licence there's nothing to stop you from rendering your own tiles based on that style - no need to download tiles at all.

I'd like to use the tiles exactly as they are on umap - showing ecological stores, public toilets and public water fountains. How do I render such tiles and host them at my server? I'm quite new to this. Thank you!

In answer to "How do I render such tiles and host them at my server?" there's some information at https://switch2osm.org/serving-tiles/manually-building-a-tile-server-14-04/ (although at the time of writing that server is in the process of being moved from one location to another). I also wrote some info here - you'd need to follow those, but use ybon's "riverboat" style instead. There are a few details in the readme, but I might be tempted to try a style with more comprehensive documentation first.

Thank you! This is what I would need, but I'm not advanced enough yet, to achieve this. Alternative and last questions regarding this:

  1. Is it possible to download the tiles of only one city (Vienna, Austria) as PNGs, host them at my server and use them for umap?

  2. What could cause the sudden loading issues of OSM OpenRiverboatMap? //{s}.tile.openstreetmap.fr/openriverboatmap/{z}/{x}/{y}.png

Thanks!
