How can I add a set of markers with their explanation text ? Need to have this set because I am mapping the terraced landscape of Portofino, Camogli ( Genova Italy) -For example: symbols for dry-stone walls combined with qualification symbols that explain the condition of the wall: if it is fallen, if it is under renovation etc.

Need to upload this set and use them on the map that will create with uMap/openstreetmap. How do you do that? Is it possible ?

Thanks

to where want you add markers? What do you mean by "customize"? If possible, edit your question to add this info. Also more meaningful title would be nice. Thank you!

I'd suggest using http://umap.openstreetmap.fr/it/ .

To add a little pointer: you can load OSM data live from the database in umap using overpass. See this explanation: http://www.mappa-mercia.org/2014/09/creating-an-always-up-to-date-map.html Then this data can be styled within umap.
