Have you mapped (remotely) in Iran?

Maybe someone is just inviting people who have to join a local Telegram group.

Thanks but its no explanation and if so the laguage would be English in all. This just landed in my mailbox, the question behind it, how did it get through ? SPAM in the Question & Answer category has gone down, compliments.

The message is in Persian, which seems an eminently sensible choice if someone was sending messages to people mapping in Iran.

There are lots of local communities who send messages to local mappers inviting them to local events or local communications channels. In the East Midlands of England we occasionally send OSM messages to new mappers locally, inviting them to local pub meetings. Several communities also send "hello and welcome" messages to new mappers this way too, pointing at local resources and local imagery that they wouldn't otherwise be aware of.
