Satellite or Airplane Images

The satellite or airplane images for my area, Haleiwa, HI (21°35′24″N 158°6′50″W) seem at least a decade old, as many buildings that have been here 10+ years are missing from the images. Where are these images derived, and can one access more current ones, if there are(hopefully) any? Mahalo(TY). Aloha. Keoni(my Hawaiian given name) :D

This site provided by user mvexel suggests that the Bing imagery for the area is dated 2011. If you zoom out a bit though you get 2004 imagery.

I am unaware how to check the age of other imagery but if someone was to develop a JOSM plugin to show the age of the imagery tiles being used at edit time it would be a handy tool. I think you may be able to see info in JOSM by selecting the imagery layer, then right-click for more info, but I am unable to check at the moment.

The aerial imagery page lists other providers

Imagery layer(w/ hand grabber); a right-click doesn't (sadly) have any info available. The three sources of image info all say (C)2016, which one takes with a grain(large) of salt. We aren't exactly a bustling metropolis, but are very proud of our little piece of Paradise. Please excuse the immodest modesty. Mahalo nui loa. A hui hou. PS: "Latest" version of bing maps/images is also outdated. Sigh :-|
