I don't see a search for location window in Keepright. I can scroll and zoom but would like to search. Am I missing something?

meta: please could you upload the image here locally (button in the edit toolbar)? That ensures future functionality and preserves the reader's privacy.

I'm afraid I don't understand how to upload the image. What I did when I wrote the question was to click on the image button and then the link that flickr provides for the image. Maybe it didn't work correctly. It would have been nice if I could have uploaded the image from file on my computer instead of having to move it to flickr first. Can you point me to some documentation.

@Alan01730: uh, thanks for the comment, I will have a look. Hmm, see this screenshot (the button I've clicked on before, is indicated by my mouse pointer). Do you see a different popup window when you click this button while in edit mode? You can try that now, too - login and click edit below your question text.

Is that any better. I selected the flickr embedded image referenct.

keepright<script async="" src="//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

@Alan01730: that's quite the same. Please see my last question above: Don't you see the image upload button in the edit toolbar? If you see it, what happens when you click it?

Yes I could see the image upload button. This time I clicked the choose file and I picked one from my hard drive. If that worked, it was my misinterpretation of the window above the "choose file" where I thought I was suppose to paste in a link to the photo. I guess I don't understand the purpose of that window. Hopefully, my last attempt worked and I will ignore that window in the future. Thanks for your patience.

@Alan01730: ah, I see. In fact it this window is meant this way: enter an URL to an image or upload one from your computer. Thanks for your tries.

I don't think there is one. As a workaround, you can get the latitude/longitude of the location you want by searching in Nominatim:

Then enter the latitude/longitude in the keepright URL:

The OpenStreetMap wiki has many articles about places which include a template with quick links for many ancillary tools. These include KeepRight! Osmose, OSM Inspector, Mapillary and others.

At the very least one can usually find an article for a place reasonably close to a given target.

@neuhausr: was too lazy to add an image

That's a good idea, but neither Baxter State Park in Maine or the nearby city of Millinocket Maine was in the openstreetmapwikd.
