Why not ask your question on the new OpenStreetMap Community Forum?

At the start of August 2016, the boundaries of the Lake District National Park (LDNP) and the Yorkshire Dales National Park (YDNP) extended, added two new chunks of land to each.

I've changed the boundary of the LDNP to include its new areas, and the YDNP to include one of its new areas, the other still to do.

I have noticed that the nice green tinted outline on the default osm.org site still shows the old boundaries, even though the orange selection highlight shows the new one. Have I done something wrong? Will it just take time for the changes to be reflected properly?

It'll just take time. My tile server at home is showing your new boundaries OK.
