There is a large stone sign in an area that I am mapping that says on it "Brunswick High School 1928". The high school is no longer there, but the sign is a neat feature that I would like to mark on the map. The only issue is that I can't seem to find any way to map a non-street sign. There are all sorts of signs in various places that aren't street signs, but are otherwise interesting features all in of themselves. Is there a way to do this? asked 08 Jul '16, 03:07 zellfaze |

Possibly tag 'historic=marker' answered 08 Jul '16, 06:04 NZGraham 1
Isn't this meant for markers that have some historical value themselves ?

@escada You are probably right. It just seemed the closest option for an item which doesn't really have a specific tag. Your use of the 'tourism' tag is perhaps a better option although I'm not sure that even that is 100% correct. Perhaps zellfaze can decide based on his/her local knowledge of the actual feature.

@NZGraham Note that board_type=notice is also placed under tourism. We should not take all classifications in a literal way.
