This line (https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/272812748) is one of many in the village of Hoylandswaine. It strikes me, having read the appropriate wiki pages, that this could be an instance of drawing for the renderer. If it is, does these lines need removing?

I am happy to perform this removal, however as a relatively novice user I thought it better to check before ploughing ahead.

A comment on form: If you point to a particular object or map section, it can be advisable to add a screenshot or at least describe what you're seeing (rather than just say "way #1234") since someone might fix the issue on the map and your link will then be incomprehensible.

Looks like someone was trying to do an address interpolation without finishing off the tagging. My guess is that a addr:interpolation=odd tag should be put on that way based on the address nodes at either end.

Ah. This makes sense, thanks. I do not have enough data to fix the numbering as I can't survey there for a few weeks, but when I get chance I will try and fix this.

Ask the original editor in a changeset discussion if this is what they intended. It's not infrequent that intended edits dont get finished off.
