Hi, I found a lot of useful info here about mapping. But as user I want to get from point A to point B on car and I want to avoid paying toll. Pardon my ignorance, but how do I search on web (openstreetmap.org) for best route ? Thanks. |

You can't search routes that avoid toll roads with the simple UI that is offered on openstreetmap.org. However, you can use one of the many routing services based on OSM, e.g. OpenRouteService allows you to specify which roads to avoid. There are probably others that allow this as well. |

I don't think you can do this on the routers on the OpenStreetMap website. However if you're in a car, and you have an Android device, you can use OSMAnd. It does offline routing, and has an "avoid tolls" feature. 1
... and (though obviously also not a website) Garmin-based satnavs using OSM data can also avoid toll roads without problems.

i'm using OsmAnd on mobile, the question was only about web search though...

Besides the already mentioned OpenRouteService there is also MapQuest Open which allows to avoid tolls and a few other things. |
