I want to know how to map a road that crosses a river, but there is not a bridge. For example, those crossings when a 4x4 gets into the water like in the following picture: alt text

Normally, when a road crosses a road, we need to define levels, but here, they are at the same level.

How can I map this without any error in JOSM?

It's a ford.

I like to make a short segment between the riverbanks and mark that as a ford, with that segment being connected to the river. I do this even for a smaller river/stream where the riverbank hasn't been traced, basing the ends of the segment on the imagery.

AngocA, a lot of these kind of questions can be found at the Wiki pages, just like the ford, http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Ford

I did not know the FORD word in English, and for this reason this is difficult to find clear instructions in the wiki where the mother language is different to English.
