If you use JOSM for editing OSM you can see a lot more datasets than those shown on OpenStreetMap.org, i.e. "seamark:", etc.

Why is there no option to show these datasets on OpenStreetMap.org (something like a button "Show seamarks")?

If you are interested in seamarks, you could use openseamap

Just turn on the data display (check box in the layer selector) or use the query button (the question mark).

As you will find out, the underlying issue is that there is too much and too varied data for a "one size fits all" display.

The whole point behind OSM is that a great deal of data is packed into the underlying database, but that data is then used in different ways to serve specific mapping purposes. Compare, for instance, the "main" map and the "transport" map - they show the same area in completely different ways, each using a subset of the underlying data.
