How to upload imagery in public domain?

2

Hi I have some imagery from the City of Sitka that is in the public domain and publicly available here http://dggs.alaska.gov/file_transfer/CityOfSitka_data/LiDAR%20Originals/

I would like to make it easy for others in my area to use this as a background for editing in OSM. Is this possible? How should I go about doing this?

I would suggest contacting openstreetmap.us that. if I'm correctly informed, run an imagery server for the US.

Alternatively the OSMF has some limited capacity to do the same.

One available you need to add the information on how to access the imagery to at least:

https://josm.openstreetmap.de/wiki/Maps for JOSM

and

https://github.com/osmlab/editor-layer-index for iD

That's a good idea. I've decided to upload what I can as mbtiles to my Mapbox account. I can't upload all the imagery I want, but it will work for now. Thanks.
