Hello all,

I just wanted to map this shop in my home town: http://www.nc3d.de/ but don't know how. Maybe a new shop type is needed?

if you search https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/shop#values for "3d" you find 4 shops which are likely like yours – tagged with different tags. Similar to other tags (no caps, underscores instead of spaces), I would use shop=3d_printing for your shop. As always, just add (in addition) a description (e.g. description=shop for doing 3D prints) and its website.

Okay, thanks. I used shop=3d_printing

The tag 3d_printing=* also have a few uses.

I would not expect many purely 3D printing shops spring up but would expect other shops to include the service as part of their business, the 3d_printing=yes tag I followed led me to a copy_shop which makes sense. Weren't Staples also planning to offer 3D printing in some stores too?

agree. I found those sub tags (current uses in brackets): service:3dprint (2), service:print:3d (2), 3d_printing (1). By the way: quite many such sub tags with a service: prefix.

However, if it is really a pure 3d printing shop, it needs some main shop tag, don't you think?

I would agree that there should be a shop=3d_printing if that is its primary business.
