Hi, I want to clean and restructure the relations (4253420, 25566, ... ) of the university of Stuttgart. I think it will be much more easier to make the changes based on OSM-IDs rather than editing the relations by name (because of course they have all the same name) in ID or Potlatch. So how can I upload a change? And how can I "get" new OSM-IDs for new relations?

Thanks!

So you want to edit / createOSM relations by downloading the raw OSM data in XML format, edit that XML file manually an finish that with an upload of raw XML data?

Why you don't use JOSM editor? Tht is the best one for fiddling around with relations.

And: if you are German speaking, I recommend to ask this again in the German SUBforum at http://forum.openstreetmap.org ... log in there with your OSM account.

Please tell us THERE what you want to edit on that relations you mentioned.
