how to license some small maps for my public-domain book?

4

Hello! I'm preparing some small maps for my public-domain book. Those maps are PNGs rendered from heavily edited (with Inkscape) OpenStreetMap data. Can I put my PNGs into public domain or I need to license them with CC-BY-SA?

You will need to license them CC-BY-SA. See also our Legal FAQ.

Note this answer was given before the change to the ODbL, while this didn't change the licence of the standard style tiles it does open other licence possibilities for self-rendered tiles.
