Hi. We are pretty new at this. We are programmers and want to incorporate offline maps in an app using OpenStreetMaps. We would like to plot a gpx file on it, like in most navigation apps. Most important questions are: - how do we get the openstreetmaps on a device - plot a gpx file on it - which language would be preferable: HTML5/CSS3/Javascript - Cordova / Iionic style, or C# like in Xamarin

Does anyone have a good suggestion how to setup Visual studio. Do you use for example Cordova / Ionic or Xamarin? Please some advise or pointing us in the right direction (links to, or example projects). Anything is much appriciated. Thanks Andre

You can enter the keywords Cordova or Xamarin in the search box of this FAQ site to get some hits.

And even by connecting those two words with "openstreetmap" in an internet search engine results in more hits.

Or have a look at Commercial_OSM_Software_and_Services ... there are some companies who offer frameworks for mobile app development.
