Hello, I work for the government of the Bahamas and we are attempting to update map information for the Bahamas. Our GIS section has updated street data and address points. I am no expert, but as a first step your organisation can publish that data as a kind of Open Data. In the OSM wiki there is a collection of datasets that have been imported already in the OSM database, with additional information there about free licences used.
