Running tile server postgres DB on amazon RDS?

Has anyone sucessfully manually installed an OSM tile server using amazon RDS? I am asking because my disk requirements for planet upload and tile server are now greater than 500GB. Also looking to adjust the cache rendering process so it does not eat up 100GB of memory…any ideas? Any advice would be most helpful and I would be greatly in your debt (like enough for free beer & lodging in NYC for a week :) )
