Why are road names missing from Download?

The road names are missing from the download, not from the live map when I download using the "set custom dimensions" to download a map in the SVG format. Could someone tell me why?

Additionally, even though I select the MapQuest Open map, the Standard map is always downloaded. Can this be changed?

No, I'm afraid there's no option to download any maps other than the Standard layer in vector format.

Hello Afrique, maybe you can find some "export alternatives" in the OSM wiki via http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM_on_Paper or http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/SVG
