While doing changes I made mistake which did not show clearly in the zoom setting I was working. So I saved changes. But it looks a big mistake in other zoom levels. How to undo it? I do not know JOSM at all, so most help threads are uncomprehensible to me.

The mistake can be seen most clearly here: http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=12/61.3056/27.9149 Zoom a bit closer and water/land attributes invert!

Mistake is somewhere in this location http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=17/61.28512/27.93208

If someone can revert changes to this area, please do so.

Hi, Don't try to do anything yourself, leave it alone. It's a bit to complicated for me to find the changeset that caused the problem but it looks like one small section has been deleted from a relation. Someone will be along soon to sort it.

I've reverted the changeset 36248847 in changeset 36279139, and also made a few additions which I think mirror what you wanted to achieve (i.e., refine the shoreline). The problem was with a relation.

For future reference there are a number of useful tools for examining issues with multipolygon relations:

  • Firstly one can see a relation directly as shown in the link above.
  • Secondly, Geofabrik's OSM Inspector provides a layer for finding gaps (and other problems with multipolygons), but many of the multipolygons in this area appear to be poorly formed.
  • Thirdly, OSM Relation Analyser can be used to check individual relations.

Together they can be used to spot what the problem in a relation might be and then it is often relatively easy to fix that directly in the editor of your choice.
