I can get notifications for a note if I comment on it and there are also RSS feeds for all note updates in an area. But sometimes there's a note I would like to follow without commenting on it. An RSS feed for a single note would be a bit of an overkill. Can I 'watch' (follow updates on) a single note?

I am not aware of a built-in solution.

For example you could use https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/update-scanner/ or build you own diff and alerting tool with the Notes API (that may also be overkill to you ;-) ).
