Why not ask your question on the new OpenStreetMap Community Forum?

I produce maps using mkgmap and also utilise styles, everything works, nice pretty maps etc etc.

The problem I have is this, when I make a route, the route works and I get turn information, but as the GPS is drawing the map it draws the route before the roads, so the route ends up hidden.

My maximum Draw order is 5, which is less than the popular OS50 style and type file usage.

The route is visible when loaded into Basecamp.

The GPS i use is a Garmin HCX Legend.

By route I mean, I ask the GPS to route following roads, from point A to point B.

Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong.

Might be worth mentioning what Garmin GPS you're using - "routes" can be taken to mean different things on different devices. On my old eTrex Vista Hcx, a "route" is just between specific waypoints or existing map features; on others it might mean "following a GPS track".
