I do not understand half of the program, i think. When I am on the main screen and click for example "car" and then "gas station" it says "tracked" . Maybe it is just my bad English, but what does that actually do...I mean i like the osmtracker in the way that I can reconstruct my GPS movement profile with downloading mapnik or osm tiles afterwards, but what is a trackpoint...and why does it count still if i am at home?

Indeed OSMtracker is an mapping application for the OSM community. It can be used to move around and add notes about missing POIs easily.

But you seem to looking for a general GPS tracking software that just shows OSM as basemap. Please check our software catalogue once more and filter it for your desired features...

I really like to help with the POIs of OSM. You mean when i am at a new bicycle path or another POI I can click on the adequate button and it will be uploaded and discussed for a new entry in OSM? And what do the counting trackpoints mean?

You track where you walk using the trackpoints. Additionally you are able to add custom POIs to map what you see at the field. At home you can convert and edit this data using JOSM etc. After uploading, you sucessfully contributed to OSM :-)

and when you are at home, it will keep adding trackpoints "inside" your house. That's why the counter keeps increasing. I've put "inside" between quotes because tracking does not work properly when your device does not see the satellites used for GPS positioning. Smartphones might use other sources as well to determine your position. So you have to turn off the tracking in OSMtracker to stop recording points
