I downloaded them from the recommended Australian servers. But next time please tell us exactly where or how you downloaded your map. There are no official "recommended autralian servers" for downloading OSM maps for garmin devices. Where did you download your map? Are you experiencing similar problems with other maps for Garmin devices?

That probably isn't how it's supposed to look, but we can't tell you for sure until you tell us where you got the map from. "An OSM" isn't enough information.
