I do not know how to switch off this annoying behaviour od josm:

Whenever I download data from server, there are two layers automatically opened in addition to "Data layer". I have to delete this layers everytime manually, which is annoying. These extra layers are namely "Czech hiking trails" and "Cycle routes", but it might not be important.

PS: I admit that I might have switched this up unintentionally myself in past. But I do not know where :)

You probably turned on the Routes plugin. At least the webpage mentions that you will see those two layers.

Go to preferences -> Plugins and disable the plugin if you do not use it.

It's the Routes plugin that does not have the two flags icon that causes the problem and should be disabled. The Routes plugin with the two flag icon is OK, not having this problem.

@BCNorwich - which plugin are you referring? I only see one Routes plugin. The other one is Routing and it has two flags, but it does very different things (guessing from plugin description).

I beg your pardon, for my poor typing. I meant to say The "Routing" plugin with the two flag icon is OK, not having the problem on my setup. I have always had the Routing plugin downloaded/enabled, and have never had the problems you describe.

I tested by downloading the Routes plugin, it immediately caused problems.
