Hi Can somebody explain to me how I can fix a coastline island that will not render properly because it is under a foreshore relation. This relation actually has an inner but for some reason the island isn't shining through. [foreshore relation] (https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/1341226) [island] (https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/345311243) Thanks elias asked 25 Jun '15, 00:01 flockfinder SomeoneElse ♦ |
The island appears on the Standard layer as you would expect. As the way has been edited during the last two weeks, any layers that don’t show it may be using an older version of the database that has the coastline ways in the wrong direction. answered 25 Jun '15, 07:17 Wynndale Do you really see the complete island? I can only see the little part outside of the foreshore.

Yes, on the standard layer I see the same outline for the outline on the map as the outline of the way.

Maybe the renderer gets confused by the invalid overlapping of the outer and inner way. Or the overlapping with the mainland coastline also causes issues. It should share nodes with the outer way. The same applies to the inner way and the island, they should be the same way, not two separate ones. You might also have a look at similar cases, e.g. this tidalflat, which is properly visible. It is also tagged as natural=wetland instead of natural=water. answered 25 Jun '15, 07:58 MarkusHD |
Having an inner way for the foreshore that is separate from the island looks odd. Do you know why that is?
