I've seen this feature on the github project and it looks really fast. So how do we do that? Is there a shortcut?

That kind of feature seem to be on the way but pending https://github.com/openstreetmap/iD/pull/2699

You might have watched someone use the JOSM editor which has had this feature for a long time.
