Line: RUA DA CHARNECA (150515109), nearby the RUA DO CORONEL CENTENO, CASAIS DA AMENDOEIRA, PONTÉVEL, CARTAXO. The name RUA DA CHARNECA, attributed by resolution of Pontével Parish Assembly based on a petition of 80 residents and the support of the local Association for Protection of Historical Heritage and Environmental of Pontével “Rio da Fonte” was approved on the 27th August 2013 by official order of the President of the Municipality of Cartaxo. In spite of several intents the include this correct and official name it is repeatedly deleted by the user "LOBINHO” without any comment or explanation. Is this normal and allowed?

Is it possible? Yes (as you can see). Is it a good idea, is it something that should be done in OSM? No, not really.

It sounds like a disagreement between you and the the other mapper. First try to contact them with the OSM in-built message system to find out what they are doing. Perhaps they don't know about the new name? If they are hostile, or unresponsive, you should contact the OSM Data Working Group, who handle disagreements between mappers, and block vandals. They can possible ban the account if the mapper is being hostile and a vandal.

Wow - that's a lot of revisions:

What I'd actually do first is to try and talk to the other mapper, to understand why they think the street doesn't have a name. I'd explain why you think that it has got a name, and how that name is observable. If that communication fails I'd discuss the issue with other mappers locally, so that it's not just a dispute between the two of you. I don't know where Portugese mappers normally communicate, but you should be able to find a mailing list or forum here:

http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Contact_channels

What I would not do is create 33 revisions of a street changing the name back and forth.

It would appear from how you have described the situation to be vandalism. Has the street level signage changed to the preferred name yet? You should contact the data working group to help resolve the situation. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Data_working_group
