Hello, I would like to ask if there is any possiblity to create own symbols in OpenStreetMap or if it is possible to change (complete - improve) the current symbols and replace them? If yes - how? If no, do you know who creates the default symbols? I mean by symbol - symbols for shop, for cinema, etc. ....) Thank you for your answer.

Thank you. I just wanted to ask if it is possible, but I think it is within OSM FoundationĀ“s scope, no? I think these things can do just the organisation. Becuase if it would be possible to create it everybody, then there - on openstreetmap.org - could be so much mess... (And I didnĀ“t find in editors this possibility)...

the project for the "standard" style on openstreetmap.org can be found on github As with any other open source project, you can participate, or file issues.

You might want to look at the http://sourceforge.net/p/topomapcreator/wiki/TileMill/ project to try out your new icons locally.

"To report ... graphical suggestions for the main map on the OSM website, do so at the Github issues page for the "openstreetmap-carto" style"
