Hello OSM-Community,

for switching between OSM and Google Maps I used for a very long time the plugin OSMJumper. One could open the current bbox in different map services easily by using the context menu and select "Open map in .."

For me it was very useful and I loved it. But since Google introduced its new GUI and simply switched off the old one, OSMJumper does not work any more.

Does anyone know an alternative to switch between these two map-services?

Thank you very much :-)

Try http://tools.geofabrik.de -> MapCompare

or the OSM wiki about Tiles ... scroll down that page to see more compare servives.

Thank you, yes, I knew Map Compare from Geofabrik :-) A nice tool, very useful it one plans to compare map data systematically.

But unfortunately it is not an alternative for OSMJumper. If you are in OSM or Google Maps and just want to have a look of the current bbox in another map service, it is a little bit cumbersome to start a new instance/tab manually, load the service and zoom into the right place. This takes a long time, is cumbersome and takes a lot of time.

OSMJumper provided a solution for this with 3 clicks :-)

There is a Mapjumper extension for Chrome to easily jump from one online map provider to another. Maybe somebody can fork its source code on Github to make it work on Firefox.

OpenSwitchMaps and OSM Smart Menu are extensions for jumping between maps (including osm.org and Google) which should work with current versions of Firefox:
