Hi, i am having a problem starting a new project. Every time I open and log in, I come to the map I was practising on. That is one problem. I can't find the task list to select a task. Instructions say it is at bottom of page, it's not, just a title stating, "Start Mapping"!!!

I don't see "Start Mapping" at that link. If you're using an browser other than Internet Explorer, I'd expect to see the "iD" editor loading. If you haven't edited with iD before you will get a choice of "Start the Workflow" and "Edit Now". It does look like you've successfully just made an edit there: https://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/31105633 So yes, you've successfully updated the one live OpenStreetMap that everyone shares. The fact that you mention "tasks" suggests that you might be asking about the HOT response to the earthquakes in Nepal - is that the case? Yes. I've no idea - http://mapgive.state.gov/projects/nepal/ does not load from here. I'd suggest asking on IRC - see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/IRC ; go to the HOT channel.

Just to clarify - what website are you using? Can you post the browser URL here?

Can you explain us what "practising" and "starting a new project" means? All of your edits at openstreetmap.org directly influence the map for all other people, too!
While going through the tutorial, I used my home area to practise on, now when I log in, that is what comes up each time.
Just for clarification, which tutorial was that?

Hello Frannie, when you have an URL with www.openstreetmap.org and edit and zoomlevel and coordinates like your posted URL, the iD Editor from OSM will ALWAYS open on that position, because it is like a bookmark / permanent-link !
