Land area rendered blue

2

Why are many tiles around Reeth (North Yorkshire) rendered entirely in blue today (29th March 2015) as if it was a waterbody? I added some objects today but surely cannot have caused this?

From time to time someone edits the coastline and fails to properly join up ways (usually known as 'flooding'). This is just another one of those times. Fortunately there are a number of folk who check for such errors and this one was caught quickly. The tiles will need to be re-rendered so normal tiles will appear progressively.

Although it looks odd such things usually get resolved quickly. If you see something like this again, the place to check is with Geofabrik's Coastline Checker which normally helps identify the problem area and which ways need fixing.

Thanks! Good to know it wasn’t my fault :-)

Well, the blue (background) tile has nothing to do with the coastline. It is inside the island surrounded with correct tiles. The error cause is probably something else.

The surrounding tiles are correct now because someone fixed the problem earlier today.
