Since the routing opting has been added to the main openstreetmap website, I've been using it to find mapping errors, minor gaps in ways that should connect mostly. Here I've found that neither of the routing providers accept the cable car as part of a hiking route. Is there something I can do about this? Tagging, or bring submit a bug report (feature request?) with graphhopper?

There are many of these simple cable cars used in the Himalaya as inexpensive river crossings, to service the needs of locals and trekkers. They are not just recreational, they are important infrastructure for locals.

You need to open issues with the respective routing service providers. The routing facility on openstreetmap.org is essentially a selection of thrid party services just as the majority of the maps displayed on the site are from thrid parties.

There are links after the generated routes that will get you to the appropriate websites.
