Why not ask your question on the new OpenStreetMap Community Forum?

Is there anyway to increase the number of points in a road.

Reason: I am working on topological data analysis which focuses on gaps between boundaries. Presently, the roads are sparsely populated and this would lead to weaker detection of gaps. This is the reason to ask for denser roads.

I am using overpass-turbo to extract the data into csv format.

It would help if you could link to the area that you're interested in

It would really be important to know where you are actually trying to do this and get an example.

In general roads in OSM have more than enough points to approximate their geometry within useful limits. Are we on the same page here given that you are referring to boundaries, we may have some confusion in the OSM usage of "way"?

Still not quite clear, could you provide a link to a road that doesn't have enough points ?
