I would like to find an openstreetmap editor to help improve the bike trails map (for tourism and local bikers) in Curacao Can any one suggest how to find someone? For example, i have uploaded a trace but am unsure how to turn most of it into a 'trail'. Thanks! Stuart asked 08 Feb '15, 21:58 Stuart in Cu... aseerel4c26 ♦ |
Hi Stuart, the OSM menu has another item to look for active mappers around your own residence. Login, the basic menu allows you to mark your homestead. Look at the right upper side of the screen and point at your name, the menu below profile, has a map with mappers around you. Together with the active state in days, months or years and take your pick by mailing them. Below the preferences you’re able to set your homestead by pointing at the map to search another part of the island for active mappers, a trick to get an overview. Don’t forget to reset your preferences though. Since Curacao is part of the Netherlands you could ask that community, but feel free to start your own around the island. answered 09 Feb '15, 11:15 Hendrikklaas Thanks Hendrik! Hi and welcome to OSM, Stuart! I think we have a similar question already, but I cannot find it now. I suggest you use the two "Alternative tools" mentioned on our docu wiki page about "nearby users. Check that the users are still active (look at their "edits" list) and maybe also that they are not very new themselves. I could not find a local mailing list or forum for Curacao. Best thing would be if you try to do it yourself. Note that mapping bike routes (signed ones) is not that easy. But adding just the ways (if some are missing) is quite easy. That would be the best point to start. answered 08 Feb '15, 22:06 aseerel4c26 ♦ |
To maximize usefulness to everybody, please only ask one question in one "question" entry here. So, please ask another one for your "how to turn most of it into a 'trail'" question if you cannot find an old question of the same topic.
