Is it legal to map in private spaces such airport or mall?

2

Hello, I've seen that there is few rules to follow in order to map airport spaces: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Aviation#Things_Not_to_Map

But beyond that, I would like to know if it's legal to map such private spaces (authorized for public access)? Do the airport’s owner have some right of inspection about theses data? My question is also usable for such big private spaces like mall.

Thanks,

Hi Tristan, as long as your are allowed to walk around in public spaces, your able to take notes, some remarks however, in doubt be polite and ask the operator if you’re welcome to do so. If so you might get more then you asked for. how to trace a way inside a building accurately ? mappers tag shops at an estimated place, but no ways they are more corridors, wide open spaces. an airfield with ways is Frankfurt am Main did you read this, https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Indoor_Mapping with some guidance and remarks as well ? If you're allowed to be there, probably yes. However, your mileage may vary. Ask your lawyer if indoor mapping is right for you.
