How do I tag this exit using the Destination tag?

0

From Mapillary

Do I tag this as destination=Hawthorne Drive; Austin Street? I've seen this method being used a lot, however wouldn't city names go here instead? Is there another tag that I am missing or should we create a new tag just for street names such as destination:road_name?

I would map it as you describe. This will allow navigation software to mention the words on the sign. Names of cities that are not mentioned on the signs might confuse a driver . Imaging the software would say "turn right to XXX" or ""take the exit to XXX" and you do not see "XXX" on the signs.

Agree with what escada is saying completely. What you're wanting to achieve is trouble free, unambiguous navigation hints. The destination is what is written on the sign. It may not be the final destination but it is the first one to which the exit takes you.
