Hundreds of undesirable and inappropriate emails purporting to come from OSM Help (help@noreply.openstreetmap.org)have arrived in my email inbox since yesterday among legitimate emails. The posts are not present when I log in to the forum, however. I wonder what is happening and what steps I should take to overcome this issue. Can I unsubscribe from receiving emails for a while?

Yes, there's been a spam problem on the help site. The spam messages have been removed but since emails are sent immediately, we can't do anything about that (you probably wouldn't approve of us deleting messages from your inbox even if we could ;)

In the footer of any of these notification emails, there's a link that says "P.S. You can always fine-tune which notifications you receive here." -- Click on that and you can unsubscribe from the new question notification.
