When you will update satellite imagery?

I live in Tomsk, Russia. OSM provide very old images without some roads and buildings and in poor resolution. It is very difficult to use them for map editing...

For example, Yandex and Google have more relevant images in better resolution. But we can't use them...

OSM does not update satellite imagery, ever (for lack of satellites). We use imagery from third-party providers that have granted permission to us; Yandex and Google are not among them. In most parts of the world the best imagery available to us is either Bing or the MapBox satellite imagery, and we have no influence on when they update.

@K_AA, if you'd like to help, perhaps you could negotiate with Yandex for us to be able to trace over their satellite imagery?
