Hello,

Could you please inform on how to send a message to a member of the OSM community (using his/her pseudo or name)? I know that from JOSM you can select and press Ctl-H to communicate with the members who have contributed that data, but is there a more general communication facility?

Thanks and best regards, John

You can use the user profile to send personal messages e.g. http://www.openstreetmap.org/user/!i!/ Also some users have wiki accounts. Be aware that this channel isn't usefull to send broadcasts. You might check out https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Contact

Yes, user profiles have the "Send Message" link, but better yet there is the rather new discussion (public) feature for changesets.

There are email lists for many areas around the world. Check http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mailing_Lists to see if there is a list that covers your area. For the United States I find that the talk-us mail list is far more active and interactive than these forums.
