Hi I'd like to document a journey completed thru the UK showing actual routes and highlight places enroute etc to publish in a book I am intending to write and get published. Can I use the openstreetmaps as an original source without infringing any copyrights as long as I credit openstreetmap as the source? Many Thanks JeffB19 jp@b19.co.uk |

Yes, you can. See the Legal FAQ on the wiki for details of how to credit OpenStreetMap. Bear in mind, though, that your altered maps (i.e. OSM with your route and anything else superimposed) also have to be released under the same Creative Commons licence. This means anyone else is free to copy them. |
